Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Options
There are many fabulous CSA options in our community.
Our local farms offer a wide variety of delicious local food products—much more than just vegetables! Some CSAs even include fruit, honey, eggs, maple syrup, fresh cut flowers, herbal medicines, and meats. Rather than a set box of pre-selected foods, many farms allow customers to select their own vegetables from what is available and in-season each week. Some farms provide Pick Your Own opportunities in peak season and encourage farm visits. There are many different pricing and share sizes to accommodate individuals, couples, large families, and even those simply looking to complement their own small kitchen gardens.
The Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont (NOFA-VT) has compiled a searchable, statewide CSA Directory, allowing you to search by county, by season, by farm products, and more.
Please note that many of our local farms participate in NOFA-VT's Farm Share program, which assists limited-income Vermonters in obtaining farm fresh foods. Farm Share participants receive partially-subsidized shares from CSA farms. Each year, the Farm Share Program assists over 1,400 individuals and families participating in CSA programs. As you can see, there are lots of options so be sure to do some research before deciding. If you are interested in learning more about our local CSAs that are still accepting members, please contact info@foodconnects.org or call 802-451-0538.
Let's support our local farms this summer and BUY MORE LOCAL!
